What Broke Through on Social Media in Q2

Over the last quarter, our social platforms have continued to serve as essential tools for health education, policy advocacy, and access to information – especially as reproductive rights remain under constant threat. Beginning in April, our content in Q2 focused on reaching people with timely, evidence-based information when they needed it most.

Power to Decide, Bedsider, and AbortionFinder each play distinct roles in meeting the moment. Below, we’re highlighting three posts that sparked conversation, extended our reach, and advanced our mission across digital spaces.

Power to Decide

It’s a fact that young people want to hear from their parents and other adults in their lives about sex, love, relationships, and how to navigate it all. This quarter, one of our standout posts across all channels showcased just how true that is. Teen Mom OG’s Briana Dejesus and MTV asked our CEO Dr. Raegan McDonald-Mosley to come on air and help Briana tackle a conversation that many families are trying to figure out how to have: how to talk with her 13 year-old daughter Nova about sex and her body. In addition to collaborating with Teen Mom and Briana on social media videos to uplift moments from the episode, Briana and Dr. Raegan also reunited for a live conversation on Instagram. The posts garnered millions of views and hundreds of comments, as viewers engaged with the sentiment that talking is power when it comes to reproductive well-being.

Bedsider

Our Bedsider.org platform continues to serve as a trusted source for birth control info that meets young people where they are, mixing facts, affirmation, and cultural relevance across platforms. In Q2, one of our most engaging posts joined the “Propaganda I’m Not Falling For” trend to call out the shaming and misinformation people still hear about birth control, masturbation, and reproductive decision-making. Jumping on the trend allowed us to meet the moment with a message that felt both timely and timeless, reclaiming humor as a tool for truth-telling.

By using trends to highlight core truths about sexual health and autonomy, we continue to foster a space where people feel seen, supported, and empowered to make the choices that are right for them. It’s proof that even in a crowded feed, the right message can still break through if it’s delivered the right way.

AbortionFinder

AbortionFinder.org is our verified database for navigating abortion care. It’s a resource that has proved especially essential in an environment where disinformation, legal restrictions, and confusion about access are on the rise. In Q2, we expanded our digital reach by officially launching AbortionFinder’s page on TikTok.

As AbortionFinder marks five years of helping people access abortion care, this move was a natural next step in extending our reach – especially to younger audiences who often turn to TikTok for answers. Our first round of videos focused on the basics: how AbortionFinder works, what to expect when searching for care, and how to stay safe online. Knowing how difficult it can be to break through on a platform that frequently deprioritizes sexual and reproductive health content, we also partnered with trusted influencers to boost visibility and help ensure our message reached the people who need it most. Follow the channel for trusted, stigma-free content designed to help young people find care options, understand the legal landscape, and internalize abortion-positive affirmations.
