The US Department of Health and Human Services Healthy People initiative is soliciting public comment on Healthy People 2030 objectives. Healthy People is a national effort that provides data-driven, 10-year national objectives for improving the health of all Americans. Power to Decide applauds the work that went into developing the updated measures and supports many of the proposed objectives for Healthy People 2030.  Our organization works to ensure all people—no matter who they are, where they live, or what their economic status might be—have the power to decide if, when, and under what circumstances to get pregnant and have a child. Given our priorities, we are especially pleased to see inclusion of many objectives related to Family Planning, Adolescent Health, Access to Health Services, and Social Determinants of Health. In addition to commenting on the proposed objectives that are most closely aligned with our work, we have also proposed several new core, developmental, and research objectives for consideration. Power to Decide plans to submit our comments and invites you to join us in this effort. Learn more about the national public health objectives that we support and help us amplify these important priorities. All public comments are due by January 17, at 5pm ET.
