Medicaid Postpartum Coverage

Extending postpartum Medicaid coverage to one year is an important step in improving maternal health outcomes—a core component of reproductive well-being. As of March 2025, 48 states and D.C. have already implemented a 12-month extension of postpartum Medicaid coverage, either through a SPA or a waiver.
