Maria is Power to Decide's Senior Manager for Editorial and Marketing. As such, she creates and edits content, as well as developing marketing strategies and campaigns focused on growing the organization’s reach and impact while centering the audience. 

Maria was born and raised in Mexico City, holds a BA in Journalism and Marketing from Hofstra University and an MPH with a concentration in Social and Behavioral Sciences from New York University, and has a passion for pop culture and activism in the sexual and reproductive health space. She has focused her career on improving access to reproductive healthcare information through writing and community engagement, while combining her expertise in communication and public health to produce data-driven content. 

She has previously worked for organizations such as New York University School of Social Work, and the Association of National Advertisers, and has partnered in a number of campaigns with organizations such as Pride Live, Planned Parenthood of Greater New York, SEPA Mujer, Raiz, and more.
