Bedsider.org Releases New Video: “Guy’s Guide to Taking Control of Your Sexual Health”

Jan 26 2017

(Washington, DC)—The National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy has released a new “Guy’s Guide to Taking Control of Your Sexual Health,” video, now available on the organization’s Bedsider.org, the nation’s leading online birth control support network. This latest video in Bedsider’s “Guy’s Guide” series encourages men to play an active role in pregnancy and sexually transmitted infection (STI) prevention—reminding them it’s just not a woman’s responsibility.

The new video, set in the style of a TED Talk motivational speech given by the fictional Guy Nottadadi, offers men concrete advice about how to take control of their sexual health. This informative and entertaining video also focuses on the benefits of combining male-controlled methods with other more effective birth control methods that women might use.

“The ‘Guy’s Guide to Taking Control of Your Sexual Health’ is a fun way to remind men that pregnancy and STI prevention is not just a woman’s responsibility,” said Ginny Ehrlich, CEO, The National Campaign.  “Young men—and women—should both be fully up to speed on sexual health and birth control information. It takes two to tango after all. The National Campaign’s Bedsider ‘Guy’s Guide’ video series provides men with this essential knowledge.”

According to a 2016 survey by Cosmopolitan and The National Campaign, 86% of men say that sex is better when they do not have to worry about pregnancy.

Previous “Guy’s Guide” videos have discussed different forms of birth control and other topics related to sexual and reproductive health.  Bedsider created the “Guy’s Guide” series to empower men to inform themselves and their friends about sexual health and better support their partners to avoid pregnancy until they and their partner decide if, when, and under what circumstances to become pregnant.  To view “The Guy’s Guide to Taking Control of Your Sexual Health,” and other “Guy’s Guide” videos, please visit Bedsider.org.
